Six Sigma Training

Six Sigma is the persuit of perfection. It is a standard to solve problems and produce a flawless process. To comply a process must have less than 3.4 defects per million opportunities. The objective of any six sigma process is to implement and analyze a process improvement strategy.

There are 4 levels to Six Sigma that an individual can obtain. Six Sigma Black Belt certification is the most extensive level that can be attained and means that an individual can explain Six Sigma philosophies and principles, including supporting systems and tools. A Black Belt must have leadership skills, understand team dynamics, and be able to assign team member roles and responsibilities. The other 3 levels are white belt, green belt,

Six Sigma Methodology:

DMAIC

The basic six sigma methodology consists of the following five steps:

Define process improvement goals that are consistent with customer demands and the enterprise strategy.

Analyze the data to verify cause-and-effect relationships. Determine what the relationships are, and attempt to ensure that all factors have been considered.

Measure key aspects of the current process and collect relevant data.

Control to ensure that any deviations from target are corrected before they result in defects. Set up pilot runs to establish process capability, move on to production, set up control mechanisms and continuously monitor the process.

Improve or optimize the process based upon data analysis using techniques like Design of Experiments.
